Living in Hills Shire we decided to explore a park close to where we live, right in the middle of the Winston Hills suburb tucked away amongst the side streets is this secluded park.
Caber Park Playground is 3.6 hectares of lovely parklands. It has plenty to offer including barbeques, shaded picnic areas, 3 kids playing areas, tennis courts and lots of open space which makes it perfect for hosting a kids birthday party or even a large group get together. The park has lots of open spaces with big picnic tables and BBQ’s in different spots.
This park features a path that circuits the length of the park. Your kids may like to ride their bikes or scooters but just be aware that it is hilly so it may not be suitable for little ones to ride.
They have a basketball court which is not maintained well. It features a giant wall to throw or hit a ball on or even use it to practice your tennis swing.
Caber Park: Play Area for the kids
Caber park has 3 play areas – one shaded for toddlers, one for preschool age childen and an area for older children, there is also a slippery dip and a sandpit area with a lever operated digger and a little bridge to walk across. My girls had fun operating the digger and playing with it, it’s a pity the equipment’s were not maintained and run down. The section for the older children is up a hill above the tennis courts and it has a huge, tall pyramid like climbing structure, couple of swings and a large see-saw that spins around pretty high. The pre-school area that is more for the younger kids is lower down the hill and has a slide, a smaller pretend rock climbing structure, swings and a ride on toy animal with a spring like base. Next to the tennis courts are covered picnic tables and BBQ areas to sit at as well as the shaded toddler play area. Changing rooms and toilets are also located next to the tennis courts.
Is there shade?
Apart from the toddler’s area and the picnic tables, the park doesn’t have shade. However the park does have heaps of lovely big trees that make it nice and shady.
Is there Parking?
You will find parking easily as it’s not a busy park at all. Incase parking is full you will find lots of street parking nearby.
There are two main places to have a picnic where you can do a BBQ.
